Epilepsy Awareness
Epilepsy affects over 600,000 people in the UK and is one of the most common neurological conditions. It causes recurring seizures that can vary widely in type, frequency and severity—some are clearly visible, while others may be subtle or go unnoticed, making epilepsy a complex and often invisible condition.
This Epilepsy Awareness training course is designed for staff working in care, education, support services or any role where they may encounter individuals with epilepsy. The course provides a clear understanding of what epilepsy is, how it’s diagnosed, the different types of seizures, and how to respond safely and appropriately when someone experiences a seizure.
Learners will also gain practical knowledge about treatment options, care planning, and risk assessment. The training helps staff feel more confident in supporting individuals with epilepsy while promoting independence and safety.
