Moving and Positioning – People
Moving and positioning individuals is a routine but high-risk activity in health and social care. If not done correctly, it can lead to serious injury for both the person receiving care and the staff providing it. This Moving and Positioning – People course is designed to give care workers, support staff, and healthcare professionals the knowledge and practical skills needed to carry out these tasks safely, confidently, and in line with current legislation.
The course covers safe manual handling techniques, the use of specialist equipment, risk assessments, and relevant legal responsibilities. Learners will also explore the impact of poor moving and handling practices, the importance of good posture and spinal care, and how to maintain dignity and comfort during assistance.
Practical, hands-on training using a variety of equipment can be tailored to different workplace settings, including care homes, hospitals, supported living, and community care environments.
