I grew up in Surrey. Prima Cura Training is based in Manchester now, but this county was home long before that, and bringing first aid training back here still means something different to me than delivering it anywhere else.

We provide HSE and EYFS-compliant first aid training across Surrey, working with employers, care providers, schools and community organisations directly at your premises. Most of the training itself is delivered by our associate trainers, several of whom live in Surrey themselves, and I step in personally when it fits.

Is This First Aid Training HSE and EYFS Compliant?

Yes. Every workplace first aid course we deliver meets the standards set out in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, and our paediatric first aid courses are built to the criteria in the EYFS statutory framework. The framework was updated by the Department for Education for September 2025, extending who needs a valid paediatric first aid certificate to count in staff ratios in early years settings. If your Surrey nursery or childminding setting hasn’t checked its provision since that update, it’s worth doing before an inspection flags it rather than after.

Surrey Organisations We’ve Worked With for Years, Not Just Once

Anyone can say they cover Surrey. What actually proves it is who keeps booking you back.

We’ve been the preferred first aid training supplier for Surrey Independent Living Charity (SILC) for fifteen years, and we still deliver for them today. We also train personal assistants employed through personal health budgets (PHBs) across the county. That’s not incidental. I sat on Skills for Care’s Personal Health Budgets Steering Committee, so training PHB holders and their PAs properly isn’t a side interest; it’s an area I understand from both sides.

We also work with Clandon Wood Natural Burial Ground, Surrey Police, and the Surrey Business Crime Reduction Partnership. In Guildford, we’ve delivered WAVE training, first aid and welfare training built for licensed venues and retail staff, for eight consecutive years.

Who Is This Training For?

Our first aid training in Surrey works for a wide range of settings, including:

  • Employers and workplaces
  • Care homes and supported living services
  • Personal assistants employed through personal health budgets
  • Health and social care staff
  • Schools, nurseries and other early years and childcare settings
  • Youth organisations and sports clubs
  • Community projects and charities
  • Licensed venues and retail businesses
  • Anyone who wants to learn life-saving skills

Group sizes range from a handful of staff to a full workforce. We work out delivery around your setting rather than asking you to fit a standard format.

First Aid Courses Available in Surrey

We deliver the following first aid courses across Surrey and the surrounding area:

All courses are delivered in line with current UK legislation and guidance, and are suitable for workplaces, care settings, schools and regulated environments. Training runs on-site at your Surrey location, or as part of an open course where that fits your organisation better.

Why Surrey Organisations Choose Prima Cura

  • Trainers who live in Surrey, so there’s no cross-country travel eating into your training day
  • Fifteen years as SILC’s preferred supplier, and counting
  • Training aligned with HSE and EYFS requirements, and reviewed when those requirements change
  • Practical, hands-on delivery built around the settings our Surrey clients actually work in, from care homes to natural burial grounds to licensed venues
  • One point of contact from booking through to certification

We build every course around your organisation, your policies, procedures and reporting systems. That’s not a script we work through; it’s what makes staff able to use the training when something actually happens.

Where in Surrey We Deliver

We regularly deliver first aid training across Guildford, Godalming, Woking, Epsom, Ewell, Reigate, Redhill, Leatherhead, Dorking, Farnham, Camberley, Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Staines-upon-Thames, Ashford, Esher, Chertsey, Horley, Caterham and the surrounding area.

Because several of our trainers live locally, on-site sessions don’t depend on someone travelling down from Manchester. If you’re based elsewhere in Surrey or just over the border, get in touch, and we’ll work out the best way to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you arrange first aid training in Surrey?

In many cases we can arrange training within a short time frame, subject to trainer and venue availability. Get in touch with your dates and we’ll tell you what’s possible.

Can you deliver first aid training on-site at my Surrey workplace, care setting or venue?

Yes. We deliver on-site across workplaces, care settings, schools and licensed venues throughout Surrey, and have done so for organisations including SILC and Clandon Wood Natural Burial Ground.

Do I need a paediatric first aid certificate to run a nursery or childminding setting in Surrey?

Yes, under the EYFS statutory framework at least one person with a current, full paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises whenever children are present, and must accompany them on outings. The certificate needs renewing every three years.

How long is a Prima Cura first aid certificate valid for?

All our accredited first aid certificates, including EFAW, FAW and paediatric first aid, are valid for three years from the date of the course.

Can Prima Cura train personal assistants funded through a personal health budget?

Yes. We regularly train PAs employed through PHBs across Surrey, and Steph Austin’s background on Skills for Care’s PHB Steering Committee means this training is built around how PHB-funded care actually works, not a generic workplace course.
