Safeguarding of Adults & Children – Awareness to Level 2

Safeguarding Adults and Children training helps staff protect vulnerable people from harm and respond confidently to safeguarding concerns. Anyone working with adults or children has a legal duty to safeguard their wellbeing. Therefore, staff must understand how to recognise abuse, take appropriate action, and report concerns correctly.

This Safeguarding training course provides essential knowledge and practical guidance for professionals across health, social care, education, voluntary services, and the public sector. It explains what safeguarding means in practice and why early action is critical. Learners explore how abuse and neglect can occur and how risk can increase over time if concerns go unreported.

The training covers the key signs and indicators of abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, financial abuse, and neglect. In addition, learners gain a clear understanding of reporting procedures, record keeping, and escalation pathways. This helps staff act quickly, follow correct processes, and protect individuals at risk.

The course also explores the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and its role in safeguarding adults. Learners examine how capacity, consent, and best interest decisions link to safeguarding practice, particularly when individuals may struggle to make decisions for themselves. As a result, staff gain confidence supporting adults while respecting rights, dignity, and legal frameworks.

This Safeguarding Adults and Children course suits both frontline staff and those who support individuals indirectly. It clarifies roles and responsibilities and supports confident decision-making within a safeguarding framework.

The course can be delivered at Safeguarding Awareness or Level 2, depending on staff roles and organisational requirements. This flexibility ensures the training meets the needs of different teams while supporting consistent and effective safeguarding practice.
