Emergency First Aid at Work + Life-Threatening Bleeding
The Emergency First Aid at Work with Life-Threatening Bleeding course equips learners with the skills and confidence to respond effectively to serious injuries and medical emergencies. Each year, thousands of people suffer severe injuries in workplaces and public settings. Therefore, knowing how to deliver immediate first aid can make a critical difference and, in some cases, save a life.
This Emergency First Aid at Work with Life-Threatening Bleeding course is designed for staff working in all environments, including construction, manufacturing, transport, events, and security. It provides essential training for situations where the risk of severe injury or catastrophic bleeding is higher.
The course includes all core content required for the HSE-recognised Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification. It is delivered in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 for qualifying workplace first aiders. As a result, employers can meet their legal responsibilities while ensuring staff receive recognised and compliant first aid training.
In addition, the course provides specialist training in the management of life-threatening bleeding. Learners gain practical experience using modern bleeding control kits, including tourniquets and haemostatic dressings, alongside current best-practice techniques.
Training focuses on rapid assessment, decisive action, and personal safety. Therefore, learners build the confidence to respond correctly to both minor injuries and critical incidents involving severe blood loss, providing effective first aid until emergency services arrive.
Overall, this Emergency First Aid at Work with Life-Threatening Bleeding course strengthens workplace safety and ensures staff are prepared to act quickly and confidently when every second counts.
