So, Who’s Behind Prima Cura Training?

Well… hello

Welcome to Prima Cura Training, and more importantly, welcome to our very first blog post.

Before we dive into future posts filled with handy tips on health & safety, first aid, safeguarding, and all things people focused training, I thought it only made sense to start with a bit of an introduction to the lead face behind the team, me.

Who am I?

I’m Steph Austin, founder of Prima Cura Training.

Trainer by day, history nerd by… well, also by day (and the occasional week off). I’ve got a soft spot for anything ancient Egyptian, a love of nature, and a valued friendship with a local magpie and his family.

One day, I plan to retire to the Netherlands, sipping their amazing coffee and living a peaceful life among tulips and bicycles. But until then, you’ll find me juggling training sessions and marching proudly as Steph Austin, pikeman and rodelero. Yep, the one thing I love just as much as training people is a good ol’ fashioned battle.

When I’m not teaching first aid or explaining why your risk assessment shouldn’t be written in Comic Sans, I’m off reenacting 17th-century clashes with various groups in the UK, Europe & further. And no, I don’t usually show up to training in full battle gear, but there have been days when the helmet would’ve come in very handy.

Some risk assessments practically scream bring a shield!

So, What Is Prima Cura About?

The name Prima Cura means “first care “and that’s exactly what we lead with.

We care first about your people, your business, and your confidence. That means we don’t just read from generic slides. We make training relevant to you.

We offer:

  • Workplace Health & Safety (that makes sense)
  • First Aid, including Paediatric, workplace and Anaphylaxis Awareness
  • Social Care Training, Safeguarding and Key Worker Skills

And much much more…

We work with care providers, small businesses, large businesses, construction companies, schools, you name it. If people are involved (and let’s face it, they usually are), we’re here to help.

What’s Next for This Blog

Well, I do like to keep an air of mystery, but we’ll certainly be including some:-

  • Practical advice you can actually use
  • Quick tips for safer, smoother workplaces
  • A bit of myth busting and common sense
  • The occasional behind the scenes story or things I’ve learned from the training room

But above all we promise to keep it helpful, human, and never boring.

That’s all folks, if you ever want to chat about training, compliance, or why your last risk assessment made no sense, drop me a message.

Here’s to learning, laughing, and keeping people safe.
